About Scary Phone Numbers
Scary Phone Numbers is an independent reference site about creepy, haunted and cursed phone numbers. For each number we say what the story is, what the line really is, how recent the newest report is and whether calling it is a good idea. Jasim runs the site. Our motto is "Every creepy number, checked," and every verdict rests on dated public sources, never on a test call.
What do we cover?
Creepy numbers spread through TikTok, Reddit, YouTube and playground dares. Many are out of date, and some were never real lines. A "haunted" number can turn out to be a marketing line that ended years ago. Some "cursed" numbers cannot connect on any network. A number passed around as a joke can reach a real person who never asked for the attention.
Each number page traces the story to its source and gives a plain verdict: what the number is, who runs it and whether calling it is safe, pointless or a bad idea. We also cover the safety side, such as scam callbacks and what to do when an unknown number rings you.
Who runs this site?
Jasim runs Scary Phone Numbers and approves every page before it goes live. Each change to a number's status is logged with its date and source, so a verdict can be traced back to where it came from. You can write to him through the contact page.
It began with a chat among friends. One of them said there was a haunted number that finds anyone who calls it. Everyone laughed, then they went looking for scary numbers to call as a dare and could not find a real one worth calling. Jasim started researching the numbers people talk about, found many of them, and built this reference to sort the real lines from the legends. No test calls are placed, so what you do with a number is your choice. Read its status first.
How do we work?
We place no test calls and we invent no results. Every status comes from a dated public source, and we show a number unless dated evidence points to harm. The full method is on how we check. Number owners can ask for removal on remove a number.
What are we not?
We are not affiliated with any studio, carrier or marketing campaign behind these numbers. We do not run the lines we write about, and we do not sell anything. Advertising, if any appears on the site, is disclosed on the privacy page.
