Scary Phone Numbers is a reference site about famous scary, creepy and haunted phone numbers. It is written for information and entertainment. Nothing on this site is professional, legal, financial or safety advice.

What a status means

Each number shows a status label and the date it was last checked. A status is a snapshot of the evidence we held at that point. It is not a promise. Lines get disconnected, change hands or start to charge, so a status can be out of date by the time you read it. The full method is on how we check.

We place no test calls

This site does not place test calls and does not record calls. What we write comes from public sources, official records and dated reports from readers and creators. We say which of these a page rests on.

Calling is your choice and your risk

Printing a number is not an invitation to call it. Some lines charge by the minute, some lead to scams, and some belong to real people who never asked for calls. Read the numbers you should never call first. If a person answers, apologise and hang up. Rules about phone calls differ by country, and you are responsible for following the rules where you live. We are not responsible for call charges, unwanted contact or any other result of calling a number.

Legends and stories

Many of these numbers come from urban legends, films, games, social media and fiction. When we cover a story, we say what it is. We do not present a legend as fact.

This site is not affiliated with any studio, carrier, game, film, campaign or person behind the numbers it covers. Names and trademarks belong to their owners and appear only to show what a page is about.
